Have been occasionally doing a " day after sessions" post at our gigs... the plan was to catch the splendid @wearebower at @thenocturnebar, for an arvo sesh, but this got in the way: now, I am not into doubts, but this breaks all the rules, which of course, so do old Cadillacs begin propelled into the future by horses, and we love breaking rules, but this, a Davidson plum sourdough donut with lemon myrtle custard from @hearthe_aus ... !! Makes a nice segue, because that's what last night's gig @misscelies_ashfield was like.... allowing us to Jam and pour our spirits into a warm, friendly audience, and thanks to all who travelled to see us.... filed us up,

I feel like really letting go... in the last couple weeks another close friend and a personal legend of my musical journey, Phil Lesh, of @gratefuldead , who felt like a friend, are gone... and that's what I'm gonna do : get that Cadillac full of characters to gather at an intimate spot, meet some new people, fill bellies and souls full of food and ale and jams for the ailments, with room to dance in front or on the street, no TV'S and no pokies around, and you can hop on the train to get there.... must be Friday night at Miss Celie's! The fireworks... he didn't know those were coming! The “ Spring Boogie” is becoming an annual thing at Lazybones for HDC , so we are putting it out there to get in early as last year it was a FULL HOUSE…
The band has had a couple months off while Nello headed to Chicago and the wild west in Search of Sounds…so the horses are chomping at the bit. As always, these gigs are a bit of an extravaganza, with a 9 piece band on the night, including the Island Sushi Horns, and some surprises for sure….Built for all on the floor, with a palette of sounds from Chicago based blues, to raw Missippi stomps, and a healthy dose of original swampy country blues, and funk from those southern regions.

We’ll be joined by our South Coast brethren TALL SHAUN, making their Lazybones debut . This powerhouse outfit is fronted by sensational vocalist Shaun Wessel – whose break-out performance on the 2022 season of The Voice stunned judges and captivated millions of viewers, and put the veteran entertainers in the spotlight . Their recent EP 'Resolution' showcases the band’s exceptional blend of blues and roots mixed with echoes of the golden age of ’70s acoustic vibes, and an unapologetic dose of flat-to-the-boards boogie…. perfect for a rollicking Spring Boogie.

The last time HDC were at Coledale, we were told to hurry back to these friendly confines…. and with another album to our credit, here we come to give you a trip down the Mighty Mis- sissipp…..eee... if you haven't journeyed to those most unique RSL, @coledalersl please do !! plus THE GROOVE!! The Groove 2.0 are stepping it up into a 5 piece for this one with the addition of Yani Socratous on drum kit and Noah Hampson on Sax.

The Groove is a cultural blend of spanish / classical acoustic guitar with afro percussive rhythms.
